Coming up with a killer offer idea is key to boosting your sales. But the most important thing to remember before I even share the 8 offer ideas, is first of all, never be afraid to promote your product or service more. I find that a lot of entrepreneurs are afraid of mentioning their product or service more than once or twice because they’re afraid of people getting irritated or people unsubscribing.

And it’s normal to feel like you don’t want to be that salesy car salesmen, so to speak, but the fact is, not everyone is going to see all of your emails, all of your social media posts, etc. And even if someone were to unsubscribe, that’s totally ok, that person was never going to be your customer anyway.

In the past, we marketers used to say people need at least 7 touch points before they make a purchase. So that’s 7 times of seeing your social media posts, emails, or ads, or hearing someone talk about it.

Nowadays, it’s no longer 7 times. We’re talking up to 21 times. We need so much more reminders because our attention is so saturated with information and news and social media. So as business owners, we have to be aware that sometimes someone might be interested in buying our product or service, but they are either distracted with life and they forgot about it, or they are slow to act, or they need more convincing.

So don’t just send 1 email or post once on social media and then say “ok I’ve posted about it, I’m done”. No. You’ll want to make sure you have multiple touchpoints so send out multiple emails, post multiple times on social media, and send reminders.

Now, the 8 offer ideas that I’m going to share are updates on an existing offer that is something your ideal paying customers are really struggling with.

So the first offer idea is the simplest idea to execute. Want to make sales now? Run a special promotion, either discounted or bundle up a few things up to create an attractive promotion. You could have a reason for the promotion, for example, you’re celebrating something like a Birthday or a public holiday, or an achievement like getting 1000 subscribers or sales.

One way that I use promotions for a quick injection of sales is to run promotions on an online conference ticket like a pre-launch ticket. If you have a course, you could run a special on your course, and that would apply for things like e-books, guides, product merchandise, even services.

The second offer idea is to offer a limited amount of something unusual for you — for example, if you have 1-on-1 sessions, you can offer a set number of 1 hour consults if you normally only do 3 hr ones. If you sell products, you can create limited edition products that could be a mini or redesigned version of a product. You can also offer breakthrough or lightening sessions where they can have a one off session for something specific.

So for example, if you are a copywriter, what you can do is to offer an hour one-off breakthrough session with you where you go through the copy on their website.

I once did a 3 hour training for a corporate client on Facebook Messenger bot because they didn’t have the budget for a done for you. So that allowed me to still get a sale and require less of my time.

The third offer idea is to create a virtual or online workshop that is an hour or half a day or full day on something your ideal paying customer desperately needs, but perhaps can’t afford as a 1:1 option.

I’ve done this once for Chrys Media, my Messenger bot marketing agency. I know not everyone can afford someone to build their Messenger bot, so I created a half a day virtual workshop where I then taught the attendees how to build their own Messenger bot. So for the attendees, that’s a no-brainer because instead of paying a couple of thousands, with the workshop it’s only a couple of hundreds.

The fourth offer idea is to partner with someone who offers a complimentary service or product and create a powerful package with the two of you. So for example, I can partner up with a social media marketer to create a Messenger bot and social media marketing template offer package that is for limited time only. And we can run it as a flash sale to both of our audiences.

And we see this quite often at supermarkets, right? They package two different but complementing products to create a special bundle pack. Things like bread and a type of spread, or alcohol and chips.

The fifth offer idea is to create a done for you offer for those that have no time and want to pay more. This is typically great for course creators who teach others a certain skill. Not everyone wants to learn how to build their own website or do their own Facebook ads or learn how to design or workout on their own. There are always people who have more money than time, so if you don’t have a 1-on-1 offer right now, think about how you can turn your course or membership into a done for you offer.

And the great thing about this offer idea is that you can execute this right away. You already have the expertise, so you can jump right into creating that done for you experience for that client.

The sixth offer idea is to bundle your one off offers into a package. So that could be bundling all of your courses into one big course package, maybe it even comes with a certification by you. If you sell different products like clothes or equipment, can you bundle them up into a brand new bundle offer?

The seventh offer idea is to come up with an easy 0-$100 tripwire offer. This could be a product, a template, a training, a live call, the idea is to make it irresistible in terms of pricing and the offer. When the price is low, people don’t need as much convincing to purchase it. The key here is to be ready to upsell to something more expensive once they purchase this lower ticket item.

For example, after buying a template on Pinterest, maybe they would be interested in a course about Pinterest marketing. After paying for a workout training, you can upsell to a one-on-one personal training or nutrition plan.

The last offer idea is to run a flash sale of a ‘behind the scenes offer’ - so things like notes or videos from a mastermind or a live event. Those events are usually expensive and not everyone can afford to attend or have the time to attend. But it does not mean that they are not interested in attending.

So there’s a Facebook marketer called Billy Gene who runs live trainings and he later on repackages these live trainings into videos that you can purchase as a standalone or as part of his membership.

So if you are running any kind of events or trainings, both online and offline, you can always record the videos or audio and have notes that people who did not attend can purchase.

Now don’t forget when you’re creating offers to get killer sales, it’s always a good idea to create real scarcity to get fast action. You don’t want your ideal paying customer to take his or her own time to decide and eventually forget to buy or sign up. You want to create an urgency to get them to make a decision now.

So that means doing things like limiting the number of spots available, if you’re selling a done for you or a group program, limiting the time to apply so having a cut off date when people can apply to sign up, limiting the sales available time so once the clock hits the expiration time, the price goes up, offer an early bird price for 24 hours or 48 hours, or offer a special bonus if they buy within a specific timeframe or are the first X number of people who buy it.
